Necessity became a craft—and a reputation.
Javier Montoya began building outdoor kitchen islands in the Coachella Valley in the late 1990s. The work grew from a practical need into a specialty carried from one backyard to the next.
Today, Montoya’s Islands still works the same way: listen first, build carefully, and treat every island as a one-of-one part of the home.
From high-use vacation rentals to family patios, the goal stays simple: create a lasting outdoor kitchen that fits the way people actually cook and gather.

Your island is fabricated and fitted off-site, away from the middle of your backyard.

Coordinate delivery
The finished island arrives assembled, with applicable trade connections coordinated for the handoff.
Local requirements vary by property and scope. Utility hookups or site work may require licensed trade partners or local approvals; those needs are identified before fabrication.
